1967:  Stationed in Bremerton, Richard spent a month with his parents in Guatemala, then re-enlisted and was soon sent to Danang in Vietnam.  While spending New Years in San Diego, he attended a Church where his future bride Linda Kuch came up to him and said: "I remember you from College".  He quickly deadpanned "My, how you've grown up!"

1969: After returning home from Vietnam, married Linda Kuch in a church ceremony in Odessa WA, Linda's home town, in the summer of 1969.  Later that year they moved to Qantico VA, to a trailer park with a Stafford Address.  Hence the running joke that they name their daughter Staffina Virginia Dymond. This did not occur.
