Pre-Rock (1983-2002)

Patrick M. Owen was born in Kentucky in 1983. After his father retired from the Army, his family moved to a town 45-miles Southeast of Austin called Smithville, TX. It is here where he grew up in the country, excelling in academics and extra-curricular activities. Not to be bound by the confines of a lonely country town, Patrick left promptly after his high school graduation.

The University of Texas - San Antonio (2002-08)

It was in the fall of 02 that Patrick began going to school at The University of Texas - San Antonio. At first, he had decided on majoring in Music Marketing, but after a careful analysis of the degree requirements, he switched his major to General Business. He is also getting a minor in Management, as well as a certificate in Music Technology. Scheduled to graduate in May of 08 (a minor and certificate will add those years, you know), he has yet to decide whether or not to attend grad school.

Or if he can even get in.

Bringing The Rock

During his time at college, Patrick began working at Rhapsody Street Studios, assisting Grammy-nominated Producer/Engineer Mack Damon. He started out as an engineer, but his dedication to hard work and bad-assery led him to become the studio manager within a year. Over the course of his time at Rhapsody, he has worked with many famous personalities such as Lil' Wayne, Julez Santana, Paul Wall, Sean Elliott (formerly of the Spurs), Bobby Pulido and the Frijoles Romanticos, as well as many others. In 2006, he engineered a track on Tejano-artist Rebecca Valadez's self-titled album which was nominated for a Grammy in the "Best Tejano Album of the Year" category.

He has also been involved in numerous other aspects of the music industry, such as doing regional and national promotions for musical acts, co-owning an artist management company (Mercury Music Management), a short stint as a talent scout for MajorLabelScout.com (Talent scouts for Arista and J Records), as well as serving on the board of a local music organization (The Texas Music Coalition).

During this time he has also traveled to LA for NAMM, as well as Sterling Sound in NYC for multiple mastering sessions with Greg Calbi (huge).

Current Projects

While finishing up his last semester in college, Patrick is preparing himself to journey out into the real world. He is currently working on management, promotion, production, and video projects to further prevent him from having to get a "real job".
