Question about making links?
Hi, I want to make a link in my biography back to my blog. How do I make links?![]() |

Right now you can paste in the full blog URL (the "http" part is required for now) and when you save it will become a link you can click on.

Hi. (I'm not sure what your name is because the software doesn't seem to show it, but Hi! I'm Weye.)
I've been wondering this myself. Some of the Featured Biographies have links (like Ethan Allen), but I can't find a toolbar or anything to insert them.
I tried a few different things, and it looks like you can just type in the URL (e.g. http://www.google.com) and it will work.
(It would be nice if I could type in HTML or BBCode.)

Threads created from this point on will show the identity of the poster.

It's true that biographies like Ethan Allen (which we imported from Wikipedia) have real HTML links. This is a bit misleading, because our software doesn't fully support entering them like that yet.
We plan to support typing in some HTML tags, and possibly BBCode and wiki mark-up, too.
We would like to do the right thing if someone pastes in a URL, so we are working something up to handle that in an easy and convenient way.
---
There are a couple workarounds (which we don't recommend for actual use, but if you want a nice link, it is possible):
1) Drag and drop, or copy and paste. You can drag or paste any HTML elements, including links directly into our edit fields. However note that we don't support all HTML for security reasons, so what you see before you save may not be what you get after you save.
2) Use Firefox's FireBug or something similar to directly edit the HTML in-place.

You're right. We'll do something about showing the author of a site discussion thread.

I tried just pasing in the URL, and it made a link, but it didn't grab the title from the linked page...I'd like to be able to specify a non-URL title for my link.

Yeah I found that too. And I want to add a video to my biography. I pasted in the Youtube codes but it didn't work. So I made a link to Youtube and that worked but I want to put the video in the biography. Its a video of when I was a kid, that's why I want to put it in.
